Essential at every stage in the research process.
Starting at the briefing, during the conversations, through the analysis and
the debrief.
- how often do we really listen to what someone is saying?
- how often does our own agenda get in the way of truly hearing
what is being said?
- how often do you say or think ‘but you’re not hearing what I’m
saying’?
Listening clearly and cleanly is a skill and the foundation to an
open conversation:
- the language used
- the tone of voice
- the mood
- the engagement (or not)
Clean listening is fundamental i.e. without your own (or anyone else’s)
thoughts or experiences influencing what you hear; non judgemental
and curious. |
